Loop Song 9 - Orangutan

Loop track 9 and the penultimate song on the album already! Orangutan is about.... well wonderful orangutans of course. So much have their habitat has been destroyed for palm oil production and we can all do something about it. Please try and shop for products with no palm oil in to help out these beautiful endangered animals. I'm hoping that when human life returns to normal that we might rethink our relationship with the natural world. Many thanks to PanEco for the animation which plays later on in the song. The track is real builder so please play it through to the end if you have the time to spare.
Orangutan

The Orangutans are calling us,
to stop all of that noise.
They're calling us,
hear the wisdom in their voices.

What took millions of years to evolve,
takes us decades to destroy,
Mother nature cannot keep up,
with the fast paced human race,
hear her struggling for breath,
When will we ever learn?

Loop Song 8 - Seed In My Pocket

Loop track 8 is a one for all the sunny weather we've been having! At least we didn't have lockdown during a freezing dark winter. 'Seed In My Pocket' is about the joy I get from birdwatching and growing our own veg and flowers from seed. Nature is indeed a healer! In the last nine weeks we've nursed an injured pheasant and an injured hedgehog back to full health, had a range of birds nesting in our garden including collared doves, blackbirds and sparrows and spent magical mornings watching a pair of barn owls hunting over the field behind our garden.

Seed In My Pocket

Have you ever watched the starlings, murmurating in the sky?
They're clearly having fun, not just thinking up new ways to survive.

Have you ever shared your sandwich, with a hungry little gull?
The signs tell me not to share, but I don't care I feel abundantly full.

Everywhere I go I carry seed in my pocket,
in case a little bird flies by.
I want to share, I want to share the joy of being alive.
And everywhere I go I carry seed in my pocket,
I want to help the Earth regrow,
give on back, give on back, give on back with what you sow.
And they go...........(birdie whistles)

Have you ever spent an hour or two, simply sitting on the grass?
Slow down to nature's pace, leave the Human race and the next to-do-list task.

Have you ever watched a plant grow, from a tiny little seed?
I find when I raise them up, they raise me up and give me back what I need.

Everywhere I go, everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go, I carry seed in my pocket.
Everywhere I go, everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go, I carry seed in my pocket.

Loop Song 7: Fulfilled

Loop song number 7 is here! Fulfilled is a song about accepting and being unattached to outcomes when you know you have given your all. Had an interview this week but didn't get the job so I wrote this song instead. Perhaps it was meant to be that I didn't get it! :)
Fulfilled

Once you've had a taste, you want the same back again.
That fleeting friend called Happiness soon goes.
She's not waiting out there, wherever you look.
But hidden in the sanctuary of the soul, to be fulfilled.

Be fulfilled

We cannot control every single event,
just give our all, no matter what the days bring.
Ask better questions, change what it means,
and the smallest shift, can reshape reality, to be fulfilled.

Be fulfilled

Content in your heart, you've given everything.
Content in your heart, you've given everything.

Loop Songs 6: Little Dot

Loop Song 6 'Little Dot' is largely inspired by the Carl Sagan speech titled 'Pale Blue Dot' referring to the wonderful Earth we live on, a tiny speck in an unfathomably huge universe! Hopefully these strange times will teach us to see beyond the artificial divide lines of nationality, race and religion so that we can more peacefully coexist on this tiny dot we call home.
Little Dot

Have you ever wondered why you're here?
Have you ever wondered why we're here?
Living on this little dot.

I'm so glad that you're here,
I'm so glad that you're here,
sharing this little dot.

Is this the only place to harbour life?
Is this the only place to harbour life?
This fragile little dot.

What a joy it is to be alive.
What a joy it is to be alive,
on our little dot, share our little dot...

But we cut it up into smaller slices,
cut it all up into smaller slices,
into smaller little dots.

So many artificial divides,
separating every single life,
although we live on the same dot, live on the same dot...

Loops Songs 5: Ananda

Ananda is a sanskrit word meaning 'bliss'. In yoga philosophy it is said that God is sat-chit-ananda (existence consciousness bliss).

Ananda

Sing out for those with no voice,
Sing out for those with little choice,
High up in the trees and sharing our seas.

For you are they and they are you,
Thou art that, divine and true
So treat all as you, for all is you.

The next step in evolution is pure consciousness,
Yet the next step is already here, beyond all the fear.
Million of lifetimes have led us to this,
Trillions of stars have made this exist,
this permanent bliss, permanent bliss.

We all belong to a royal family,
The emperor penguin and the queen honey bee,
There's no hierarchy, for symbiotic species.
We have labelled all the food chains upside down,
For everything relies on the plants in the ground.
They nourish the Earth, bring about new birth.

It's difficult to love everything you come in contact with,
But no exception at all, no matter how small.
For there's something connecting all of this,
That can't be explained by the laws of physics,
this permanent bliss, this permanent bliss.

Ananda....Ananda...Ananda

Loops Songs 4: Spells

You'll be able to tell I had lots of fun making this one! Lockdown loop track 4 is called 'Spells' about patterns of thought, which seem difficult to change. Here's to all those who are making the most of this time to exercise, developing their creativity or learning a new skill, forming new positive patterns of thought. This synth based track is very different to anything I've ever written so please let me know what you think.

Spells

Held, back still
can never seem to change these thoughts.
The cogs are stuck. going round over again.
Won't you open up?
These thought are like spells.
Thoughts are like spells.

How many days, are spent in auto mode,
no time to play, just got to react to input,
how many words do we say, that have already been said?
These thoughts are like spells
thoughts are like spells.

Loop Songs 3: Little I

Little I

Remember back to when, you could get lost in imagination,
I'll take you back to then, no thought of limitation
Before we call each other by labels,
Before we separate and divide
Most of this place is empty space, below all is unified.

On such a clear night, when I'm not blinding by the lights,
I look up to find, a constellation no nation can divide.

We start out with a name, a country, a religion
We play linguistic games and cling to our possessions.
Stare into the horizon, surrender to the stars,
If you try to count them, you'll question who you are.

On such a clear night, when I'm not blinding by the lights,
I look up to find, a constellation no nation can divide.

There's something beyond mind, free from ego
Like an ever-present child, in the current flow
The harmony of life, the answers are inside
When you and me combine, I'm not a little I
